Book Review Break-Down

So this post is to basically tell you how my book reviews will go, what exactly I am looking for and how often you should expect to see these reviews and my rating system. So firstly, let’s face it I have a life somewhere out there, where-ever out there it is, so book reviews will be once a month. Why, you ask? Well I have web-series and movies reviews to do plus I have books on my reading list that are not LGBT related.

How will I approach the reviews? It won’t just be a standard review, but I would also look at the LGBT presence and factors within the titles. The LGBT issues that are present and how they are handled. Trying my best not to give any spoilers, but if I can’t help it, you will get a SPOILER ALERT

My rating system will be the same for my web-series and movie review, which will be the rainbow colours, we use six colour is our rainbow flag: red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. So red will represent the lowest rating given (sorry all those red lovers out there) and purple for the highest rating. Some ratings might be a double colour rating: yellow/green, basically it has gain green status but is still better than a yellow rating, basically it would be like a .5 when using a number rating system.

Here is an example of a book review:

Title: The Cat who could Fly (I am a cat lover, sue me)

Genre: Comedy

Overall Rating: Green

The cat who could fly takes you on a journey that allows you to see this cat not just as a pet but as a being with hopes and dreams

LGBT Presence Rating: Yellow

The cat has moments when she struggled with her sexual being and fears being rejected by the other cats

Plot Rating: Blue

The plot was filling with twist and turns and you never really saw what was coming next, it made the title too hard to put down.

LGBT Rating: Yellow/Green

Overall it was an excellent book, but when it come to being a LGBT title, it falls short, yes there are instances of it, but not enough for it to be placed under the LGBT umbrella. If you want a good laugh it is still a good book to read, you should check it out.

Well all of that is out of the way, you should be seeing my first review about a month from now, I am still deciding what title to review, but I am sure that will come to me in no time, and I will add it to my GoodReads currently reading shelf once I decide. You can add me on GoodReads https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/19780332 and please feel free to pass on any book recommendations that you may have.

Well that is the break down, tell me what you think in the comments, if there are any other aspects you would like me to review, please feel free to suggest them.
